Polaris (The North Star)!
This image was taken at Fish Lake in Lapeer. It is a 15min exposure on Kodak gold 200 film. I used a 200mm lense so that the distance between the Noth Celestial Pole and Polaris, the "North Star"(the brightest object), was obvious. |

Solar Prominence!
This image of the sun was taken with the 10" apo. at EMU. The filter was a Hydrogen Alpha filter. The loop of red gas coming off the red disk of the sun is a solar prominence.

Myself and the Sun!
I took this image looking into a large (~2.5 foot) parabolic mirror. I have actually melted pennies using this mirror. The sun is hot!! |

Sherzer Observetory!
This is home to the Astro Physics 10" apochromatic refractor. The building is one of the oldest on campus and one of the most beautiful.

Cygnus and NGC7000!
This is a 5 min exposure on Kodak maxima 400 with a 50mm lens at f/1.7. The brightest star, towards the middle of the image is Deneb. NGC7000 (North American Nebula) is faintly visible directly to the left of Deneb as a very faint red patch. Also visible is M29 the Butterfly cluster next to Sadir, M39 is also visible on the far left towards the top of the image. |

The Coat Hanger!
Loacated near the center of the image, slightly to the right, is Collinder 399 (The Coat Hanger Cluster). The base is made up of six stars in a straight line and off of the middle a loop of stars making the hook. 5 min exposure on kodak maxima 400 with 200mm lens at f/4.7.

Lyra with Vega
